Edible Evening is Raising FUNds for Raising Rochester
4th Annual Fundraiser Offers Fall-Months Event Celebrating With Healthy Food & Fun
Rochester, MI - KidzKare’s Raising Rochester program, which grows produce to donate locally, has grown itself - to over 150 garden beds at 25 locations. The organic community volunteer garden program is poised to harvest over 1,500 pounds of fresh produce this year to benefit the clients of the Rochester Area Neighborhood House Food Pantry!
To help celebrate and support continued success of the program, KidzKare will host the 4th annual “Edible Evening”, on the covered front porch of the historic Paint Creek Cider Mill on Thursday, August 11th, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Paint Creek Cider Mill Restaurant, the event will feature a four course meal, prepare on-site with local, fresh, organic ingredients, as well as local brews and other adult beverages. There will also be live entertainment and a silent auction.
Dr. Jay Mitchell, founder of KidzKare and Raising Rochester, states “The garden program has achieved its goals this year of increasing both the amount of fresh, local, organically grown produce being donated and providing more hands-on educational opportunities to our school children. We look forward to generating funding to support next year’s goals of expanding our program into more Rochester schools and building our first hoop-house to provide year-round production for the food pantry.”
Discounted tickets, which include a 4 course organic dinner, entertainment and 2 adult beverages, are available for adults (21+) only in advance for $60 or $100 per couple. Tickets can be purchased at www.kidzkare.net by clicking “EDIBLE EVENING” or for $70 at the door. Sponsorship information is also available online. For further details, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 248-505-3522.
