WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HARVEST? 

The produce harvested will be distributed as follows
(using six beds as an example)

June 20, 2014 – 6 lbs radishes and 4 oz arugula from Classic Lanes and Van Hoosen Farm.

June 21, 2014 – First sale of produce at Rochester Farmer’s Market.

"We got a late start planting this year due to the unexpectedly large number of beds that we needed to build, install, and mix. Therefore, our harvest will also be starting later. We expect to have our first radishes before the end of June with lettuce, arugula, beets, and turnips."

 

Purpose #1: No less than fifty (50) percent  or three (3) beds (enough to feed one adult) will be donated to the Food Pantry run by First Congregational Church UCC of Rochester through the Rochester Area Neighborhood House, or a similar food bank and distribution center in the Greater Rochester area, at the sole discretion of the KidzKare, Inc Board of Directors,

 

Purpose #2: No less than thirty-three (33) percent or two (2) beds will be sold at local farmer’s markets or to community members and/or businesses with the gross profits going to KidzKare, Inc for uses consistent with their declared mission at the discretion of the KidzKare, Inc Board of Directors, and;

 

 

Purpose #3: No more than seventeen (17) percent or one (1) bed will be donated to those individuals or entities defined as “bed hosts” to use as they wish in their sole discretion.  A “bed host” is the owner and/or renter of the property on which the beds reside.
