Thank you for attending the 5th annual Back To School Bonanza! Saturday, August 27th. Please carefully review and follow these instructions:
Driving Directions & Parking: The Bonanza! will be in West Middle School, 500 Old Perch Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48309. Use the north driveway off Old Perch and park in the main parking lot to the north of the school. Do not park in front (east) of the building.
Arrival: An arrival time of between 10 am and 12 noon will be provided by email to registered attendees, based upon registration order and services requested. Attendees will be admitted at or after their arrival time only. Unregistered attendees (walk-ins) will be admitted starting at 12 noon.
Entrance: Enter through the north east ENTRANCE doors (those facing the main parking lot, on your left) no earlier than your assigned arrival time, or 12 noon if you have not pre-registered. Join the line for check-in/registration in the hallway leading to the main lobby, as directed at the door.
Registration Number: A registration number, for each child, will be provided by email to registered attendees. Note this number for check-in, as it will be helpful in locating your registration form. The number will be assigned during check-in to unregistered walk-ins. It will be printed at the top of each registration form. Registration numbers may be used during the event by providers to locate prepared packages and to determine their service order.
Forms: If you pre-registered, you will pick up your completed registration form(s) at the PRE-REGISTERED table in the lobby. Review the form(s) and insure that all information is correct, then sign the form(s). If you did not pre-register, complete and sign a blank registration form for each child. Keep registration form(s) with you (not the child) at all times, except to present it to goods/service providers upon request and to return it upon exiting at CHECK-OUT. A separate physical/medical form will be provided for each child receiving these services, which the parent/guardian will keep for their records, once completed.
Name Tags: Assist your child(ren) in completing and putting on their name tags. Pens and markers are available at REGISTRATION tables in the main lobby. When done, proceed to CHECK-IN with the forms.
Check-in: The line for CHECK-IN will form along the wall, around the corner, and down the hall to your left (south). At the CHECK-IN table, present completed registration form(s) to the volunteer staff who will double-check that all information is complete, and will assign walk-ins a registration number.
Layout & Directions: The Bonanza! layout includes four large service areas (see layout map above). Review the following directions to plan your time at the event.
Upon admission, you will enter the healthcare area, where physical exams and related screenings, as well as health-related program exhibits, are available. Make sure to stop here for any requested or desired healthcare services, and at the exhibit tables for health-related programs information, before proceeding to the other areas. If your child will be receiving a physical, check them in at the HEALTHCARE CHECK-IN table. Make sure to complete the top/highlighted portion of the physical form. When finished, proceed through the cafeteria and down the hallway to the gym at the end of the hall, where the EXPO and DISTRIBUTION entrances are located.
Expo (main gym)
You will next enter the main gym, where the EXPO area offers a variety of exhibits of assistance and other programs, haircut/styling and face-painting stations, as well as snacks and water. There is no pre-set order to visit within the Expo area; visit any and all exhibits and stations at your convenience. You may proceed (to join the line leading) directly to the DISTRIBUTION area at any time, and will return to/through the Expo afterwards.
Distribution (auxiliary gym)
The entrance to the school supplies/clothing DISTRIBUTION area is the northeast doors (right and through the main gym). Join the line along the north wall of the main gym to enter the auxiliary gym through these doors; follow the line, signs and staff directions through both distribution areas. Registered attendees will have items reserved for them until 12 noon. Afterwards, unclaimed items will be included with those available for walk-ins. Once you have received your items, return to the Expo through the south entrance marked EXPO. Do not exit the building from the gym.
Turn to the right when leaving the main gym (Expo), then turn left and go down the hallway towards the main lobby. The last service area is the PRESENTATIONS classroom, located on your left, where presentations on a variety of topics will be offered throughout the Bonanza! Check the Presentation schedule on-line and at the door to catch the presentation(s) of interest to you. When finished with a presentation, you may return to the Expo or Exit.
Exit: Turn left and go down the hallway to the CHECK-OUT area in the main lobby. Please pick up and complete an EXIT SURVEY. Stop by the DOOR PRIZE table to check for winner number(s) matching your registration number(s). For each match, you win one prize of your choice. Confirm your winning number(s) and prize selection with the door prize volunteer staff. Return the completed registration form(s) and exit survey at the CHECK-OUT table. Take completed physical exam form(s) home with you.
